An atmospheric detective story in which a crime is committed on a luxurious yacht among a close circle of respectable people. The cruise yacht “Maria,” cutting through the salty waves of the Mediterranean with its bow, is headed for the port of Ashdod. A group of the sweetest people gathers in the library to play cards. The moment the game starts, the yacht’s owner, billionaire Mr. Orlov, suddenly remembers that he forgot a smoking pipe in his cabin. A plain smoking pipe. But without it, he can’t—nothing doing. They waited for the owner to return for about fifteen minutes. Then they started to get worried. Next, they searched the ship. Mr. Orlov disappeared. The captain, at low speed, turned back. The owner’s body was soon found among the waves… The billionaire’s fiancée is in hysterics. The mother is in despair. The friends are stunned. The poor man’s body is carried into the freezer. But while the yacht was docking at the shore, while lawyer Dana Schwartz was boarding the vessel, the situation onboard turned into a full nightmare: someone had cut off the corpse’s head and who knows where they hid it, and in the dead man’s fist a note appeared with a short line: “I’m here”… For more than 10 years David KON worked as the host of the only Israeli TV channel in Russian, “9 Kanal.” Before that, he led the newspapers “Our Country” and “Russian Israeli.” One of the most popular Russian-language journalists in Israel.
