Description
The treatise “Categories” belongs to the work of the ancient Greek scholar Aristotle (384–322 BCE), the founder of classical logic. *** “Categories” is the first chapter of the standard collection of six works by the author, known as “Organon.” In other words, according to Aristotle’s teachings, categories are nothing other than ten postulates that designate all material things. Aristotle is known to our modern contemporaries as the author of many scientific works, including the collection of works on logic “Organon,” “Metaphysics,” “Physics,” “Politics,” “Ethics,” “Poetics,” “On the Soul,” and “Athenian Constitution.” Aristotle’s writings cover all areas of knowledge of his time: philosophy, logic, psychology, natural science, politics, history, aesthetics, and ethics. In his philosophical concept, Aristotle sought to overcome his teacher Plato’s dualism, which divided the world into an unconnected world of ideas and a world of phenomena.
