Vladimir Voroshilov is well known to readers for his novel «The Sun Continues to Shine» (1971), which received high praise from both readers and critics. The novel «A Drop of Light» (1981) is closely connected with the writer’s first novel, yet it is a completely independent work. The main character, Sergei Tomilov, who was blinded in a mining accident, once thought that he saw a drop of light. After surgery, he faces a tragic dilemma: to remain active, risking being plunged into darkness again, or to withdraw from life in order to preserve that last drop of light. Sergei makes a difficult but necessary decision.
