Two people arrive at an unfamiliar house and meet the owner, who has become a ghost. Realizing that their visit is ill-timed, they decide to leave, but it turns out to be far from easy. Throughout the entire novel, they wander through a huge house which, after the owner’s death, came to life and keeps surprising them: forks running through the corridors, a fountain bursting out of an aquarium, and other strange phenomena. One of them, remembering this unique adventure, clearly doesn’t like sharing the story and keeps avoiding giving it directly—digressing into anecdotes and distracting the listener, as if demonstrating how hard it is to follow a path where obstacles keep appearing.
