Who were they truly—the people immortalized in bronze at the “Revolution Square” metro station? For the most part, what is known about them are myths and fictions invented and circulated already in the 21st century. Here, we tell about the real “models” behind the sculptures, as well as prototypes and archetypes, including the “sailor-partisan Zheleznyak” and the famous tracker Karatsupa, presented without propagandistic gloss.
