Economics: The User's Guide

In the global religious spectrum one can discern a certain essential unity. It is defined by the very nature of religion, which rests on lived experience of faith. Faith, in turn, is first of all a state of the spirit born from experiencing the reality of the Higher. Within it awakens a special kind of intuitive knowledge; something akin to a meeting occurs; a mysterious summons resounds. The person answers that summons: religious teachings—with their metaphysics and ethics—are precisely such answers. They not only make sense of the mystical vision of faith, but also attempt to establish a “feedback link” with that hidden Essence that touched the person with its presence.
