No one knows when and exactly how death will catch you. No one plans where it will happen, or what music will accompany your final breath. Kendell Byers didn’t think about it either when she went out for a run. Although, to be fair, one of Taylor Swift’s tracks led her to a grim thought—one that immediately vanished.
The girl ran through the park, not knowing it was her last walk in life. Her body will be found only later, even though it will be hidden in a shallow grave in a fairly crowded place. The circumstances of this mysterious death will have to be unraveled by detective Mitchell Lonni. He checks missing-persons databases, trying to find out at least something about the identity of the deceased. During the investigation, it turns out that while alive Kendell sold used women’s underwear. Could her death be connected to that specific activity?
Meanwhile, a bloodthirsty maniac is roaming the city, just starting his harvest. Soon after Kendell dies, another girl is killed, and Lonni discovers a connection between these cases. Both victims received a hint shortly before the tragedy about what would happen to them. The monster can’t satisfy its thirst for blood—it starts killing more and more often. Mitchell needs to find the killer quickly, or more innocent women will die. But will the detective manage not to mix work with personal interests? After all, the beast seems to have picked up the scent of its hunter.
