Marina visits the “Cafe of Death,” where people can share their stories of loss and try to ease their pain. Her mother recently died, and after that Marina took a job at a school to distract herself. She also begins to remember her childhood—especially her friendship with a girl named Karina, and the secrets they shared. Fifteen years later, a girl appears who reminds Marina of someone from her past. The novel “Cafe of Death” explores themes of death, relationships, and femininity through a unique literary space created by Anna Linskaya.
