An autobiography in the form of a collection of short stories and notes, written in the author’s distinctive style. V. Shenderovich recalls childhood, service in the army, studying, and working in the theater. A significant part of the book is devoted to observations of vivid and original types of Russian politicians of the 1990s, work on the program “Dolls,” and also to simple sketches about Russia, ordinary people, and, in general, the strange and surprising post–Perestroika era.
