In numerous reference books and lists of Russian inventions, the three-quarters of remarkable ideas born from our native inventive thought are most often not even mentioned. Instead, you can find that we supposedly invented the airplane (of course not), the bicycle (also no), and a ballistic missile (certainly not). This book has two goals: first, to talk about inventions made at different times by our compatriots—maximally objectively, without downplaying or exaggerating their merits; second, to dispel numerous myths and historical falsifications connected to the history of invention.
