Description
Gaito Gazdanov is a writer of the younger generation of the first wave of Russian emigration; alongside Vladimir Nabokov, he is called the best writer of Russian literary exile. This edition includes Gazdanov’s stories that are probably less familiar to the reader than his famous novels “Evening at Claire,” “Night Roads,” “The Ghost of Alexander Wolf,” and others. But without this prose—so strong in autobiographical motifs, filled with many author-reminiscences and “sketches” for future novels—it's impossible to imagine and fully understand the work of this remarkable master whose name has long been among the classics of Russian and foreign literature.

This collection includes audio versions of the stories:
