Description

Former brothers-in-arms want to kill Rubin. Helpless scientist Engineer is the last person a stalker would want to see nearby. An experienced stalker with the call sign Rubin is hunted by his former comrades. Seriously wounded, he tries to escape the pursuit. Fate brings him together with Engineer—a scientific researcher who came to the Zone to test a new detector. Engineer’s group is destroyed, and he is absolutely helpless without the equipment and escorts. Two such different people, two incompatible characters and worldviews—yet right now they may be useful to each other: Engineer can help the wounded Rubin, who, in turn, knows the Zone well and is ready to guide him to the laboratory.
