The Singer Company House is one of the most recognizable buildings on Nevsky Prospekt and a true architectural emblem of Saint Petersburg. It was built in 1904 according to the design of the Russian architect, an academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts, Pavel Suzor.
In different years, besides the company itself, sewing workshops operated in the building; an American consulate was located there; publishing organizations were present; and one of the most famous bookstores in the country—“The House of Books in St. Petersburg.”
