Description
Charles Bukowski is a well-known American writer of the twentieth century whose books were very popular in Europe, especially in Germany. He wrote more than forty books of various genres, including novels, poems, essays, and short stories. In his works, he often used a naturalistic style, but they were also full of lyricism and sometimes sentimentality. Bukowski was known as a master of the short form, and his book "A History of Ordinary Madness" is an excellent example of his skill. In this book, he describes the life of his lyrical hero—his alter ego—and shows his journey through the modern world. A film based on this book was made with Ben Gazzara and Ornella Muti, and it won several awards at film festivals.
