This book is the sixth volume of a ten-volume collected works by the Austrian scientist-psychologist and founder of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, known as the “Textbook Edition.” This volume includes works that examine two main complexes of neurotic disorders: hysterical symptoms, as well as manifestations expressed in the form of anxiety, fear, and phobias. These works not only contain factual material that formed the basis of Freud’s theoretical postulates, but also give the reader an opportunity to learn psychoanalysis “in action”—how Freud worked with his patients. In preparing this audio edition, Freud’s work “A Fragment of Analysis of a Case of Hysteria,” included in Volume Six of the Textbook Edition, was transferred to the project “Famous Cases from Practice,” where you are offered to get acquainted with it.
