A radio play from the archives of the USSR Gosteleradiofond, based on the novel by the well-known Soviet writer Arkady Grigorievich Adamov (1920–1991) “On a Free Spot.” During the investigation of a tangled and dangerous case of a murder and robbery of an inspector of the MUR (Criminal Investigation Department), Vitaly Losev is subjected to a bandit attack—yet at the cost of incredible efforts and courage, Losev manages not only to stay alive, but also to carry out a brilliant operation to neutralize a criminal group.
The novel “On a Free Spot” was awarded the 1982 prize of the All-Union literary contest of the Union of Writers of the USSR and the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs—for the best book about the Soviet police.
