Mikhail Andreevich Osorgin was an outstanding writer of Russian literary life abroad. Like many other Russian people of his generation, he went through suffering and trials, endured the ordeals of war and revolution. Behind him were years of cooperation with "Russkye Vedomosti," work in a bookshop for writers, the fight against hunger in the Committee for Assistance to the Hungry, and behind him was Russia—the only one he passionately loved. Ahead were the years of exile, illuminated by a son’s duty to the country where he was born. Mikhail Osorgin wrote many wonderful books. Now they are returning to their homeland.
