Sixteen-year-old Olivo Depero lives in a shelter for difficult teenagers and has changed homes several times after the tragic death of his parents in an accident. He loves reading, can’t tolerate mistakes in writing, always sticks to a specific style of clothing, and limits his statements to six hundred words a day—more than enough for interacting with others!
Olivo has outstanding mental abilities: he can memorize information instantly, build logical chains, and arrive at the right conclusions, as well as see what slips past others.
That’s why the desperate police commissioner, Sonia Spiralari, believes Olivo is her last chance in finding four missing teenagers. Following numerous conditions set by the young man (for example, his diet consists of macaroni with parmesan, he sleeps in an unheated room, and eats five chupa-chups a day), Spiralari brings him to the heart of the case. Olivo quickly notices that there are strange things going on. They’re so unusual that even he will have to rack his brains to figure them out—and that’s exactly what he enjoys.
