In the second part of the trilogy, the хтони don’t wear coats, don’t drink tea by the liter—but they still talk heart-to-heart over a cup of coffee, fool around, and go for walks through the city. Someone from a хтоnic agency quits their job to become a proud deputy CEO. Someone happily applies for an operator vacancy. Someone goes on maternity leave. But it isn’t that simple: during the internship at a cozy coffee shop that the хтони love, a guy arrives—one who sees their monstrous faces. The хтони are forced to confront old enemies again—both in memory and face-to-face.
Who would’ve thought that “Хтони in Coats” would have a continuation? First of all, me. But some characters quite shamelessly climbed into my head: “Hey, wait, we didn’t finish our deal!”—and I had to write the second part. Spoiler: they didn’t finish it so much that there will be a third.
Spring and summer are the time of active growth. And in this book, whose events begin in summer, the characters grow too. Everything happens against the backdrop of the usual strange requests—from wanting to discuss something specifically with a хтони to asking to take a look at the inner chaos—along with walks through the city and heart-to-heart talks in kitchens and at cafés. I tried to keep the format and atmosphere of the first part. I think that’s what cycles should look like.
For those who want to cheer themselves up. For fans of cozy, warm stories. For those who fell in love with the cute хтони from the first part.
