That’s what the main character of this book is like—a dazzling red charmer and the warden of the Black Meadow sanctuary, a cat named Basil. He’s still very young, but this summer serious trials await him. While visiting his grandparents, where he lives, their grandchildren arrive on vacation—Nikita and Lyoshka. They turned life in the quiet house upside down, and then slipped into the forest and encountered creatures that belong only in evil fairy tales. To save them from trouble, the Warden had to try very hard. The book design uses the author’s drawings.
