It's Good That We Are Different!

Lessons in kindness are the best thing we can give children. Precisely in preschool age a child learns to recognize and notice feelings, to empathize and to have compassion, to help and to care. But how do you find the right words and explain what kindness is, what it consists of, and why it matters?

Children are conservative by nature, so it’s especially important that adults pay attention to the diversity of the world around them and to the fact that this diversity doesn’t divide us—it enriches us. We can look different, we may have different levels of wealth, different families, different strengths and weaknesses, but we also have a lot in common. The ability to notice points of connection is an important communication skill that not only makes life happier, but is also extremely useful.

Child psychologist and art therapist Elena Buryeyeva created stories about a boy Filip, who together with his parents learns many new things about the world: he meets children who look and behave differently, children with different financial opportunities, or those who live in single-parent families.
