Gothic Stories

This series collects stories of the supernatural from the late 19th century to the early 20th. All of them were translated into Russian for the first time. Many authors of this collection today are remembered only by genre enthusiasts or specialists; yet their books once were printed in tens of thousands of copies, became bestsellers, and sometimes even surpassed in popularity works by more well-known contemporary authors such as Henry James or Wilkie Collins. The translation of the collection was done by participants of the A. Borisenko and V. Son’kina workshop at the School of Literary Mastery CWS, 2021.
