A Mountain in the Embrace of Clouds

I was never particularly interested in Japan, its history, and mythology. It was just that in a travel agency there was a burning tour deal at a good price with suitable dates. Nothing foreshadowed trouble—until, in the middle of my vacation, I end up trapped, and like in a whirlpool I’m pulled into a world of strange creatures—yokai. A little scary, but they don’t kill me, don’t torture me; they protect and entertain me because now I’m engaged to one of them. Temporary. And everyone knows about it, even though the people around are pretending it’s not so.

I’ll complete my part of the deal and they’ll send me home. Soon. Or not?
