Young doctor Mari Laurent, just arrived for work with Professor Kern, enters his laboratory and sees a living human head separated from the body…
Confined to bed for several years, Alexander Beliaev devoted himself tirelessly to science and literature. That, in turn, inspired him to write a story (partly autobiographical) in which the author wanted to tell “what a head can experience without a body.”
