"The Voice of Heaven" is an attempt to patch up a growing emotional gap—at least in the sense that there’s too much in this work: endless reflections and digressions from the topic to call it simply a science-fiction novella, and in turn too little philosophizing (or pseudo-philosophizing) for it to pass as an epistemological treatise. In any case, as a result of a conscious experiment, the book is a hybrid—or a mixture—and whether it has the merits of biological hybrids, let the reader judge.
