Zygmunt Bauman is a well-known British sociologist, author of more than 20 books on the most pressing issues of social development. The book presented to readers is devoted to the problems of globalization. Some praise globalization, others see it as the source of all disasters. As the author conceived it, the book is polemical in nature and “contains far more questions than answers.” Bauman sees his task as a human being and a scholar in drawing as wide a readership as possible to these questions and encouraging reflection on the influence of globalization on the current state of our civilization.
