Goering's Man: The Unnoticed Story of a Righteous Man

It is hard to imagine brothers more unlike each other than the Gering brothers.

Albert Gering, brother of the Reichsmarschall of the Third Reich Hermann Göring, saved Jews and other people whose lives were unacceptable to the Nazi regime throughout the war. Among those saved by Albert are composer Franz Lehár, the Austrian archduke Joseph Ferdinand IV, and others.

Evil is always more noticeable than good. Everyone knows who Hermann Göring is—a Reichsmarschall of the Greater German Reich, convicted by the verdict of the Nuremberg Tribunal as one of the chief war criminals, sentenced to death, and who then took his own life. But few have heard of Hermann’s younger brother—Albert Göring—who not only did not join the NSDAP, but instead helped throughout the war those in mortal danger: Jews and simply those who disagreed with Nazi state policy.

Albert Göring died in the mid-1960s in obscurity, and only recently have people become interested in his life again. First of all—thanks to the book by William Hastings Beek, who traveled across half of Europe, trying to piece together, crumb by crumb, the details of the life of one of the forgotten righteous of the 20th century.
