Francisco Martínez López is an outstanding Spanish wrestler and communist partisan who devoted his entire life to the struggle against Franco’s dictatorship. Having begun his career as a fighter while still a teenager, he carried out his political activities into deep old age.
His book tells how, on the ruins left by the Civil War in Spain, a left-wing anti-fascist underground was revived; about his struggle in the 1940s and 1950s; about his exile; about 1968; and, finally, about the fall of the dictatorship and the return of the communists to the country’s legal political life.
