The General and His Army

At the heart of the narrative is the fate of General Vlasov and the German general Guderian. The author lifts the veil of grim secrecy over certain “uncomfortable” episodes of the war that were not suitable for official literature. Right after it appeared, G. Vladimov’s novel became a major event and was included among the best works about the war.
