2058. This is a world where omniphones replaced any social connections, where MegaNet’s clips ended media resources and culture, and augmented reality drove out the real. Journalists were replaced by event-makers—ordinary people who film everything in hopes of getting a spectacular and scandalous recording. In this world, any flight on an airplane is deliberately turned into real hell. Europe lives by the doctrines of “voluntary poverty” and “total transparency,” and any trip to a store threatens you with a fine for violating the rules of responsible consumption. Like all event-makers, Norbert searches for storylines—but unlike many, he still believes that people on Earth want to know the truth, not just have their nerves tickled. He ends up in the hottest hotspots of the world, some of which are near his own home. Searching for the truth takes him even into space, and gradually the real face of the new future appears before Norbert—and this vision will forever overturn his world.
