“Fantastic Tales” are small, fun adventures for schoolchildren that play with everyday childhood situations, using elements of fantasy. The main characters are fifth- and sixth-graders, as well as household-helping robots, a time machine, and even aliens. The stories are somewhat reminiscent of the adventures of Alice Seleznyova—except here, the heroes are mostly boys and robots, with their own boyish-and-robot concerns: grades at school, a broken nose, unlubricated manipulators, a punctured electrical wiring… The tales are kind—they teach friendship and mutual help. Except for the four stories about the home robot Gosha, all the other stories are not connected with each other.
