Description
Aunt Dalia demands that Bertie Wooster help her cheat an antique dealer when selling an 18th-century silver cream pitcher. Dismissing all the objections of her aristocratic nephew, Aunt Dalia threatens to ban Bertie from invitations to her lunches—an unthinkable prospect, given Wooster’s boundless love for the culinary delights of her chef, Anatole.

The situation gets more complicated when Bertie’s friend Gussie Fink-Nottle asks for advice in a matter related to his upcoming marriage to Madeline Bassett. It seems Madeline isn’t the only one he’s attached to. Studying the influence of the full moon on the love life of newts—what could be more of a priority?

More confusion is added by several other characters who have a very particular interest in the notorious cream pitcher:

— Roderick Spode, leader of a fascist organization, whom his supporters call the savior of Great Britain;
— Stiffy Byng, the niece of Sir Watkin Bassett;
— Rascal Pinker, a priest without a parish in Totleigh Towers, Bertie’s school friend, and, besides, Stiffy’s fiancé.

And there’s still a whole crowd of obnoxious characters.

But the most important obnoxious character of all—the silver cream pitcher, in the form of a cow—is precisely where his adventures begin!
