Daniel Goleman (born in 1946) is a well-known American psychologist and science journalist. For twelve years, he wrote articles for The New York Times, specializing in psychology and brain sciences. He has written more than 10 books on psychology, education, science, and leadership.
He gained worldwide recognition after the release of “Emotional Intelligence,” which stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for more than a year and a half.
Goleman has received many awards for his research, including an achievement in journalism award from the American Psychological Association. He was elected a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in recognition of his work popularizing science. He has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize twice.
