Description
Early in the morning at the shopping center "Brooklyn"—a cultural magnet for many residents of the small town of Voskresensk-33—Kostya meets his former classmate Zhenya. Zhenya, whom everyone at school used to mock and despise, now looks well dressed, expensive, and—somehow—he turns out to be the head of the plant from which Kostya was just fired.
How did he manage that? It’s simple—he sold his soul to the devil.
At first Kostya refuses to believe it, but meeting Zhenya reveals cracks in reality that Kostya had previously refused to notice.
Can the devil choose not Moscow or St. Petersburg as his place to live, but a small town beyond the Urals that isn’t even on the map? And, by the way, why isn’t it on the map? How does all this relate to the fact that in Voskresensk-33 time seems to have frozen in an endless October—and Kostya suddenly started seeing dead people?..
