A book about Egyptian mythology and how the ancient inhabitants of the Nile valley explained the world around them. The author tells of the creation and evolution of the universe and the reign of the gods on Earth. Dr. Garry J. Shaw taught Egyptology at American University in Cairo, the University of Liverpool, the Egypt Exploration Society, and currently teaches his subject online at the Department of Continuing Education of the University of Oxford. He has appeared in various TV and radio programs, regularly writes articles for journals and newspapers—including The Art Newspaper and Timeless Travel—and also worked on archaeological projects in Egypt and Turkey.
