A radio drama based on John Galsworthy’s play.
The prominent financier Basteple sends an expedition to the Congo. It turns out that its true goal is diamond deposits. Almost all members of the expedition die, while London newspapers report that the diamonds have been found, and this triggers a rapid rise in Basteple’s shares. Tregay, a journalist who has been following the expedition’s trail, accuses Basteple of cheating.
