Duma Key

A novel about a man recovering after a serious incident (the 1999 accident that King survived determined not only the setting, but also the theme of the novel?), in which he lost a hand—and who then sets his life back in order after a broken marriage. The main character moves to Florida in an attempt to build a new life, begins drawing, and discovers that his paintings somehow predict—or bring about—deadly future events on this strange and ominous island.
