Penny, who is considered the ideal wife, mother, and hostess, organizes the weekend at a tropical island, wanting everything to go perfectly. At a dinner party celebrating her husband’s fortieth birthday, the guests are delighted, and her in-laws are proud of their daughter-in-law. But her older daughter, Rosie, shows disrespect toward her mother and is into the superficial Eloise, who runs a popular blog and wears designer clothes. Eloise, even though she didn’t want to come to the island, is also going through her own stress: her marriage is falling apart, her teenage son is glued to gadgets, and only her little daughter Coco brings her joy. Still, all everyday problems take a back seat when, right in the middle of the celebration, Penny’s six-year-old son suddenly disappears.
