The shooter-pilot Agzhey Veren is young and overconfident. Fate drops him onto a war cruiser of the Imperial armada “Stork,” where he becomes subordinate to a more experienced and skilled partner, Colin Maklovsky, nicknamed “Dup.”
The explored universe is on the brink of war, and Agzhey learns that his partner must urgently fly to the other end of the galaxy, because that’s where the forward front of battles is. After losing his friend, he also tries to get transferred to the ancient and rebellious South, from where the colonization of the galaxy once began.
