The artist Asle lives in Dullgju. Mostly he only communicates with his neighbor, a single fisherman Oslayk. In Bjerkvin there is another Asle. He is also an artist. Both Asle are friends and, in a sense, represent two versions of the same life. In the first book of the “Septology,” author of “slow prose” Jon Fosse introduces us to the childhood of both Asle retrospectively. “Another Name” is a story about memory, a fjord, dangers, and the neighbor who disappeared at sea.
