Vikram Seth is a writer with world experience who was born in India and studied at Oxford and Stanford University. His first novel “Golden Gate” was written in verse, and then he created “A Suitable Boy,” which became the longest novel in the history of English literature published in a single volume. The novel takes place in the fictional city of Brahmpur on the banks of the Ganges and tells the story of Mrs. Rupa Mehra, who tries to find a suitable husband for her younger daughter, Lata. In 2020, a miniseries titled “A Suitable Boy” was made based on the novel.
