One of the components of Sufi worldview is the affirmation of the equal right of various religious teachings of humankind—each of which, in its own way, reflects the One Truth. This view brings people of different faiths closer together, destroys hostility and distrust between them, and makes love for one’s neighbor truly universal. The poetic translation of Sufi parables offered to the reader, from the world-famous poem by Rumi “Masnavi,” by Dmitry Shedrovitsky, is accompanied by mystical and psychological commentary. Many of the parables are translated for the first time.
