House 'P'

The story «Дом П» is about an ordinary large family. Grandma Zhenya loves her son and grandchildren enormously and, above all else, fears hurting them. One day, a friend of the head of the family tells him that now he is the director of a nursing home—this wonderful place where elderly men and women can rest from the burdens of everyday life. The father suggests that Grandma Zhenya go there, but he doesn’t realize that by doing so he’s not making her life easier—she isn’t tired of caring for him and the grandchildren, her most beloved people. But so as not to upset her son, Grandma Zhenya agrees… This story is about what can happen if loved ones don’t tell each other what they truly feel—and about how important it is to be close to those we love.
