Moscow, September 1928. Under strange circumstances, an agent from the criminal investigation office shot himself. Senior investigator Frolov suspects murder and goes to the forensic expert, Professor Grenih, for a ruling. The expert confirms it was suicide but advises starting a preliminary inquiry. The deceased agent had been documenting mass riots involving former prisoners of war—turns out foreigners were stirring up counterrevolutionary scandals and causing drunken brawls against Soviet authority. It involved not only officials, but also ordinary schoolchildren.
Professor’s daughter Maika will have to save her classmates from court, while Professor Grenih himself will have to square off with his own Moriarty and attempt to expose an underground network dealing with housing issues—clearly not according to Soviet laws…
