The actor from a provincial theatre, Sergey Leopoldovich Antushkin, is kidnapped by some men in black suits the day before the premiere of “The Inspector General.” The kidnappers announce that they have a job that Antushkin cannot refuse: he is to play the candidate for President of the Russian Federation, and then—if the election race ends successfully—also the President himself…
