Doctor Lerne, Sub-God

Renard (or Rénard) Moris (1875–1939) is a French writer of mass literature. One of the leading national science-fiction writers of the first decades of the 20th century, recognized as a master of adventure and crime novels, and one of the distinctive predecessors of modern science fiction.

A story about an ordinary bourgeois man who is involuntarily pulled into monstrous experiments by a mad professor… and into an erotic abyss. In this book dedicated to H. G. Wells, Renard—according to one critic’s description—“begins where ‘The Island of Doctor Moreau’ ends.”
