Diary of a Murdered Woman

The famous detective duo of Leonov — Makedyev.

Colonel of the Interior Ministry Lev Gurov arrives at a sanatorium, hoping to finally get some rest. But right after registering and undergoing an initial medical check, he finds the body of the previous occupant in his room — a woman who was killed by a blow to the head. Her adult children come under suspicion, dividing the inheritance: it’s quite possible that the fatal blow was dealt by the son. However, Gurov develops his own version. And when the maid who had been serving the “unlucky” room disappears from custody, the detective decides to look not only at the family of the deceased, but also at the sanatorium’s staff…

Nikolai Leonov, formerly an investigator with the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department (MUR), knew firsthand how to unravel even the most complex crimes. That’s why his novels are dynamic, believable stories with a tightly wound plot and an unexpected resolution. At the center of the series is Colonel Lev Gurov — a top-notch operative and a man of strong character and firm principles. He is respected by friends, feared by enemies, and women pay him close attention as well. For forty years, books about Lev Gurov have remained a favorite read for fans of Russian detective fiction. The classic series “Black Cat” includes more than 200 novels, published in multimillion print runs.
