A mysterious disappearance of a girl. The investigators handling the case disappear or lose their memory. What secrets does this grim story hide?
In a cold forest at the edge of a remote Swedish village, Urmberg, they find an elderly woman. Her clothes are torn, her hair is disheveled, and her face and bare feet are wounded. But the most terrifying thing is that she remembers nothing.
This unfortunate woman is the police psychologist Hanne Lagerlind-Schön. Just a few weeks earlier, she had arrived from Stockholm with her colleague Peter to investigate an old, unsolved case: eight years ago, in an ancient burial site, the remains of a five-year-old girl were discovered.
Hanne was suffering from early dementia, but she hid her illness and kept a detailed diary. Now her colleague is missing, the diary is lost—and Hanne herself remembers absolutely nothing about what happened in the last days.
Neither the police nor Hanne suspects that the diary has not, in fact, disappeared without a trace. Only now it is in the hands of someone who can’t tell anyone about their find…
