Description
In the winter of 1942, in the city of Peno in the Kalinin region, comrades of the Komsomol—Vladimir Pavlov and Zinaida, whose last name remained unknown—fell from the hands of the fascist occupiers. Local elders only remembered that the girl had said she lived a few kilometers from Moscow in the so-called “shoemakers’ town.” The author of the novella travels to Taldом, in the Moscow region, to find out who this brave girl really was—someone who gave her life for victory over Nazism.
