A Girl and a Prison. How I Drew My Freedom…

"The Girl and the Prison" is a real story written in the first person by Lyudmila Veber, a descendant of an artist family and a VGIK graduate… In 2016, she was arrested on false charges for organizing a murder. Everything got mixed up in this case: multi-million budgets, Hollywood stars, and devotion and betrayal on a Shakespearean scale… Lyudmila ended up in Moscow pretrial detention center No. 6 and spent there 2 years and 7 months. In the end, a jury found her not guilty and returned an acquittal verdict. She walked out into freedom right from the famous Basmanny Court.
